Abstract

In September 2017, Sukoharjo District experienced inflation of 0.11 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 126.38.

Inflation was mainly due to price hikes, where the rise in CPI (inflation) occurred in five groups, where the highest inflation occurred in the education, recreation and sports category, namely inflation of 1.30 percent, and the lowest inflation in transportation, communications, and financial services by 0.02 percent. While deflation occurred in two groups, namely the foodstuff group by 0.97 percent, and the group of finished food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco by 0.06 percent.

Some commodities that experienced price increases in September 2017 are: rice, academy / college fee, sand, long bean, iron concrete, salak, balokan wood, avocado, red onion, clove cigarette, and filter cigarettes. While commodities that have decreased prices include: garlic, cayenne, corn, banana, cucumber, watermelon, sugar, chicken, beef, spinach, potato, melon, red chilli, wet shrimp, eggs, green beans, and pears.

Inflation rate calendar year until September 2017 inflation of 2.23 percent. The year-on-year inflation rate for September 2017 against September 2016 was 3.13 percent.
