Abstract

In September 2018, Sukoharjo Regency experienced a deflation of 0.16 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 129.57

Deflation occurred mainly due to a decrease in prices, where the decline in CPI (deflation) only occurred in the foodstuffs group, which was 1.75 percent. While inflation occurred in six groups, where the highest inflation occurred in the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group, which amounted to 0.29 percent. Meanwhile, the lowest inflation occurred in the education, recreation and sports group by 0.16 percent.

Some commodities that experienced price increases in September 2018 included: carpenters not foremen, fried chicken, maintenance / service, rice, apples, mustard greens, garlic, carrots, striped notebooks, bean sprouts / sprouts, red snapper, wet shrimp, tempeh, avocado, salak, filter clove cigarettes, liquid soap / dish washing, and moisturizer. While commodities experiencing a decline in prices include: chicken meat, green chillies, red chillies, shallots, cooking oil, cucumbers, broiler eggs, young corn, beans, potatoes, watermelon, grapes, melons, and cayenne pepper.

The inflation rate for the calendar year to September 2018 inflation is 1.36 percent. The magnitude of the year-on-year inflation rate for September 2018 against September 2017 was 2.52 percent.
