Abstract

In February 2019, Sukoharjo Regency experienced a deflation of 0.18 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 130.97.

Deflation occurred mainly due to a decrease in prices, where the decline in CPI (deflation) occurred in two groups, namely the foodstuffs group by 1.42 percent, and the transportation, communication and financial services group by 0.25 percent. While the four groups experienced an increase in price / inflation, where the highest inflation occurred in the health group, which amounted to 1.37 percent. The lowest inflation occurred in the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.08 percent. Meanwhile, one group experienced no change in price / relative stability, namely the education, recreation and sports group.

Some commodities that experienced price increases in February 2019 included: garlic, prescription drugs, specialist doctors, capcai, laundry / softener fragrances, young jackfruit, instant dry noodles, spray mosquito repellent, rubber sandals, and white cigarettes. While commodities which experienced price declines included: red chili, chicken eggs, shallots, broiler meat, cayenne pepper, gasoline, apples, green chili, long beans, and cooking oil.

The inflation rate for the calendar year up to February 2019 was inflation of 0.14 percent. The magnitude of the inflation rate "year on year" for February 2019 against February 2018 is 1.33 percent.
