Abstract

  • In March 2018, Sukoharjo District experienced inflation of 0.05 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 129.31.
  • Inflation was mainly attributable to price increases, with the rise in CPI (inflation) occurring in five groups, where the highest inflation occurred in transportation, communication and financial services group, namely inflation of 0.36 percent, and the lowest inflation occurred in the finished food group, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.05 percent. While deflation occurred only in the foodstuff group by -0.50 percent.
  • Some commodities that experienced price increases in March 2018 are: garlic, onion, papaya, orange, gasoline, corn, bricks, cayenne, cooking oil, and red pepper. While commodities that experienced price decline include: rice, chicken meat, eggs, long beans, salak, mustard greens, potatoes, milkfish, spinach, and white cabbage / cabbage.
  • The inflation rate for calendar year up to March 2018 was inflation of 1.16 percent. The magnitude of inflation rate "year on year" for March 2018 to March 2017 amounted to 3.14 percent.
