In May 2018, Sukoharjo Regency experienced inflation of 0.05 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 129.31.
Inflation was mainly due to price hikes, where the rise in CPI (inflation) occurred in six groups. Where the highest inflation occurred in the health group, which is equal to 0.80 percent. The lowest inflation occurred in the education, recreation and sports group by 0.03 percent. While deflation occurred in the group of foodstuffs, which amounted to 0.65 percent.
Some
commodities that experienced price increases in May 2018 are: chicken
meat, chicken eggs, fried chicken, avocado, male hairdresser scissors,
female hairdresser tariff, sugar sand, helmet, wet shrimp, orange,
onion, chips raw, goulash, clove cigarette, non-foreman, and detergent powder soap. While
the commodities that experienced price decline include: garlic, rice,
red chili, long eggplant, kale, cayenne pepper, cucumber, cooking oil,
vegetable tomatoes, and green chili.
The inflation rate for calendar year up to May 2018 was inflation of 1.16 percent. The magnitude of inflation rate "year on year" for May 2018 to May 2017 amounted to 2.42 percent.
