Abstract

In July 2018, Sukoharjo Regency experienced inflation of 0.08 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 130.39.

Inflation occurred mainly due to price increases, where the increase in CPI (inflation) occurred in five groups. The highest inflation occurred in the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group, which amounted to 0.87 percent. The lowest inflation occurred in the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.01 percent. While deflation occurred in two groups, namely the transportation, communication and financial services group by 0.57 percent and the deflationary foodstuff group by 0.42 percent.

Some of the commodities that experienced price increases in July 2018 included: fried chicken, gasoline, broiler eggs, green chillies, clove cigarettes, grilled chicken, high school tuition fees, cell phone pulse rates, melons, children's school uniforms, negligee, chicken meat kampung, bandeng, sweetened condensed milk, cucumber, tempeh, cayenne, cooking oil, concrete iron, balokan wood, spray mosquito repellent, cotton pants, men's school uniforms, women's school uniforms, herbs, liniment, toothpaste, and shampoo . While commodities that experienced a decline in prices included inter-city transportation, shallots, bricks, grapes, chicken meat, potatoes, young corn, carrots, garlic, avocados, catfish, beans, T-shirts and gold jewelry.

Inflation in the calendar year to July 2018 inflation is 2.01 percent. The magnitude of the "year on year" inflation rate for July 2018 against July 2017 is 2.44 percent.
