Abstract

In August 2018, Sukoharjo Regency experienced a deflation of 0.48 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 129.77.

Asi Deflation occurred mainly due to a decrease in prices, where a decrease in CPI (deflation) occurred in three groups. The highest deflation occurred in the foodstuffs group, which was 2.77 percent. The lowest deflation occurred in the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0.07 percent. While inflation occurred in three groups, namely the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group, which amounted to 0.41 percent, and clothing and transportation, communication and financial services groups, respectively by 0.11 percent. Meanwhile the Health group did not experience a change in index / relatively stable.

Some of the commodities that experienced price increases in August 2018 included: long beans, bricks, concrete iron, carrots, motorbike tires, salak, potatoes, cucumbers, pears, spinach, beans, tempeh, red chili, balokan wood, artisan not foreman, women's blouse, and junior high school and college / university textbooks. While commodities that experienced a decline in prices include: chicken meat, broiler eggs, young corn, cayenne pepper, shallots, mustard greens, avocados, catfish, kale, red snapper, bean sprouts, watermelon, gold jewelery, color television, VCD / DVD Player, rice, tuna, cabbage white / cabbage, squash, green chili, garlic, brown sugar and pepper.

The inflation rate for the calendar year to August 2018 is inflation of 1.52 percent. The magnitude of the "year on year" inflation rate for August 2018 against August 2017 is 2.80 percent.
