Abstract

In August 2017, Sukoharjo District experienced a deflation of 0.82 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 126.24.

Deflation occurred mainly due to the decline in prices, where the fall in the CPI (inflation) occurred in three groups, where the highest deflation occurred in the foodstuff category, namely deflation of 3.91 percent, and the lowest deflation occurred in the group of finished foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.09 percent. While inflation occurred in five groups, where the highest inflation occurred in the health group by 0.33 percent, and the lowest inflation occurred in the education, recreation and sports by 0.07 percent.

Some commodities that have fallen prices in August 2017 are: garlic, red onion, red pepper, urban transport, eggs, kale, cayenne, biscuits, corn, beans, spinach, potatoes, white cabbage / cabbage, bean sprouts, chicken meat, chicken meat, squash / japan, long eggplant, carrots, avocado, melon, watermelon, cd-tape-rec-radio, and inter-city transport. While commodities that experienced price increases include: rice, cucumber, green mustard, grape, beans, vegetable tomatoes, salak, filter clove cigarettes, shampoo, mobile phone pulse rate, instant noodles, presto milkfish, green beans, washing machine, mosquito repellent spray, gold jewelry, and vcd / dvd player.

The inflation rate for calendar year up to August 2017 inflation was 2.11 percent. The year-on-year inflation rate for August 2017 against August 2016 was 3.07 percent.
