Abstract

In January 2018, Sukoharjo Regency experienced inflation of 0.89 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 128.96.

Inflation occurred mainly due to price increase, where the rise in CPI (inflation) occurred in five groups, where the highest inflation occurred in the foodstuff category, namely inflation of 3.59 percent, and the lowest inflation occurred in the transportation, communication and service groups finance of 0.17 percent. While the other two groups experienced a decrease in price / deflation ie housing, water, gas and fuel by 0.10 percent and education, recreation and sports by 0.09 percent.

Several commodities that experienced price increases in January 2018 include: rice, chicken meat, prescription drugs, red pepper, corn, papaya, cayenne pepper, green chilli, kale, and garlic. While commodities that experienced price decline include: chicken eggs, brick, vegetable tomatoes, green mustard, beans, carrots, cucumbers, squash, color television, and cooking oil.

The inflation rate of calendar year up to January 2018 inflation of 0.89 percent. The year-on-year inflation rate for January 2018 against January 2017 was 3.13 percent.
