Abstract

In April 2018, Sukoharjo District experienced deflation of 0.05 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 129.24.

Deflation occurred mainly due to the decline in prices, where the CPI decline (deflation) occurred only in one group, namely the foodstuff category by 0.96 percent. While inflation occurred in five groups, where the highest inflation occurred in the clothing category, which was 0.50 percent, and the lowest inflation occurred in the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.09 percent. Meanwhile, the education, recreation and sports groups did not experience changes in index / relatively stable.

Some commodities that have fallen in price in April 2018 are: rice, garlic, cayenne, papaya, potatoes, carrots, red chillies, beans, sugar, corn, spinach, and squash / japan. While commodities that experience price increases include: red onion, chicken meat, fried chicken, gasoline, orange, eggs chicken, catfish, roast chicken, white cabbage / cabbage, green chilli, garbage disposal service, chicken meat.

The inflation rate for calendar year up to April 2018 was inflation of 1.11 percent. The year-on-year inflation rate for April 2018 against April 2017 is 2.95 percent.
