Abstract

In June 2018, Sukoharjo Regency experienced inflation of 0.76 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 130.29.

Inflation is mainly due to price increases, where the rise in CPI (inflation) occurs in all groups. The highest inflation occurred in the foodstuff category, which was 1.53 percent. The lowest inflation occurred in the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.03 percent.

Some of the commodities that experienced price increases in June 2018 include: chicken meat, intercity transportation, prescription drugs, long beans, catfish, cayenne, fried chicken, red snapper, beans, grapes, plain bread, clove cigarettes, long tubes, bottled water, cement, batik shirts, blouses, outer skirts, rubbing, contraceptives, and school bags. While commodities that experienced price decline include: oranges, green chili, garlic, red chilli, white cabbage / cabbage, rice, milk for toddlers, eggs, jewelry, gold and onion.

The inflation rate of calendar year up to June 2018 inflation was 1.93 percent. The magnitude of inflation rate "year on year" for June 2018 against June 2017 amounted to 2.44 percent.
